Setup begins in August
Our team starts building the displays each August, with more to see as the season develops.
Pumpkins from early October
Our pumpkins usually arrive at the beginning of October. Arrival dates and availability can vary.
AN AUTUMN FAVOURITE
Find your perfect pumpkin near Hull
Each autumn, the front of Southwood fills with a huge display of pumpkins. It’s one of our most popular seasonal sights, with plenty of shapes and sizes to browse and choose from.
Pick a favourite for carving, find a few for your doorstep or enjoy choosing your pumpkins together as a family. They usually arrive at the beginning of October and are available while seasonal stocks last.
Choose from our display: our pumpkins are displayed at the garden centre entrance. Southwood is not a pick-your-own pumpkin field.

Discover our Lemax Spooky Town display
Southwood is one of the UK’s largest stockists of Lemax Spooky Town. Each year, we set up a large seasonal display filled with haunted buildings, illuminated scenes, animated pieces and wonderfully spooky little details.
We generally stock most of the new collection items each year, alongside a wide selection of buildings, figurines and accessories. Visit to find inspiration for your own village, or explore the range online.
Display layouts and the items available change each season. Individual products are subject to availability.

Is the Halloween display open all year round?
No. Our Halloween and autumn displays are seasonal. We begin setting up the Halloween area in August each year, and the displays develop as the season progresses.
When do the pumpkins arrive?
Our pumpkins usually arrive at the beginning of October. Arrival dates and availability can vary, so please check with us if you’re making a special trip.
Do you offer pick-your-own pumpkins?
No. You can browse and choose pumpkins from the huge display at the front of our garden centre. We are not a pick-your-own pumpkin field.
Do I need to book or pay to see the displays?
No booking or entry ticket is needed to browse the garden centre and seasonal displays during our opening hours. Pumpkins and other products are available to purchase separately.
Do you stock the new Lemax Spooky Town collection?
Yes, we generally stock most of the new Lemax Spooky Town collection items each year, as well as a wide range of buildings, figurines and accessories. Individual items are subject to availability.
