Environmental Statement

At Southwood Garden Centre we are dedicated to ensuring we have a minimal environmental impact. As a small family run business we feel very passionately that we want to make a positive impact on our environment. 

Our garden centre is powered by 100% renewable energy. This means that everything from our coffee shop to singing reindeer are powered with renewable energy. In addition to this on the roof of our our garden centre we have over 100 Solar panels installed. On average they generate 70% of our annual energy use. 

We are also trying to package our orders in a more environmentally friendly. We reuse the boxes which products arrive to our garden centre in and repurpose them for packaging materials. Our box shredder can turn damaged boxes into packaging materials. Which means we have been able to reduce our use of bubble wrap.

We are pleased to announce that this Spring we will be planting 2000 trees to create Barry’s wood in the field just outside of our coffee shop. Which will be dedicated to Barry Jones our Grandfather. Once complete our customers will be able to watch as the trees grow over time.
